Leatherworking Skills Improvement Course

Develop your leatherworking skills

This one-to-one course is intended for leatherworkers who have reached a plateau, are struggling with a particular technique or want to correct habits that are limiting their progress.

The day is tailored to your needs. It can provide an honest assessment of your current work, reinforce existing skills, concentrate on a particular technique or help you develop a product you want to make.

Bringing your own tools is useful. Nigel can check that they are suitable, correctly maintained and performing as they should.

Who is this course for

This course is for leatherworkers who already have some experience, whether you are early in your development or an established maker. If you are not achieving the results you want, the day will help identify what is holding you back and which skills need attention.

What is included

During your day, all materials, tools and sundries are supplied to enable you to get the most from your day.
There are no additional costs or fees.

Lunch

Lunch is at 12:30 and is not provided, so please bring provisions. Details of local amenities and accommodation are included in the joining pack once the course is booked. Tea and coffee are available throughout the day, including freshly brewed coffee.

All face-to-face courses take place at the Armitage Leather workshop. The course runs from 9 am to 4 pm, with a break for lunch at 12:30. Contact details and directions are available on the Contact page.

Course Content

The course content is flexible and built around what you need. We can assess your current skills together and identify areas that need work, or spend the day concentrating on a specific technique or problem.

You can arrive with a clear subject in mind, or Nigel can guide the day after reviewing your work and discussing your goals.
