Learn leatherworking with Nigel Armitage at the Armitage Leather workshop in Staffordshire. Courses cater for complete beginners through to experienced makers developing particular skills.

Choose one-to-one tuition focused on the skills you want to develop, or a group course covering a particular subject alongside other leatherworkers. One-to-one tuition can be booked for one or more days; group courses run on the dates shown.

Course gift certificates
Gift certificates can be purchased for any amount and used towards one-to-one or group courses. They can cover the full course price or contribute towards it, with the recipient paying any remaining balance when booking.
As a guide, single-day course prices are:
Standard one-to-one course: £285
One-to-one box work: £315
1 day Group course: usually £165

Bring a Fridge Magnet!
Over the years, students have come to the workshop from all over the world, Peru, Australia, Brazil, Canada, North America and all over Europe, the list goes on.
If you are coming from far afield, bring a fridge magnet with you showing your City, State or Country.
We like the country ones.
Previously, I used to get students to put a pin in a map to show where they travelled from, but in the new workshop, we have a very large green metal beam.
We thought it would be a fun way to celebrate this by covering the beam in your fridge magnets.
It is filling up slowly, and is becoming a feature in the workshop.

If you cannot visit the workshop, you can learn online with Nigel through Secrets from the Workshop. Follow step-by-step videos covering leatherworking skills, techniques and projects, with explanations to help you apply what you learn at your own bench.
