Belt Making

Learn to Make a high quality hand made leather belt

A belt is often underrated and seen as a simple item to make, it is after all just a strip of leather with a buckle on, right?
Not quite, there are skills and techniques that need to be learnt in order that a high quality, durable and good looking belt can be made.

In recent years, a high command of an awl was needed to make a good quality belt, if not skilled, the worker had to rely on other options like rivets.

Today, with modern tools such as stitching irons, belt making has become more achievable for more people.
The techniques taught here in the workshop are still traditional, but have a modern slant thanks to these tools.
Awl work can be covered for those more adept and looking to follow a more traditional path.
