Template Making Group Course
A Full Day In The Workshop With Nigel
Learning How to make Templates correctly.
It is fair to say that templates are a foundational, if not a critical part of any build.
We all know this, but how many of us apply this to our work? Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!
Here in the workshop, you will learn that templates are an art form in themselves, after all, if you cannot make a good template, how can you be expected to make a good product?
On this course you will learn what is required to make a good template, what information you need to apply to it to make it effective, how it can help you with your stitching, hardware and symmetry.
Of all the courses run in the workshop, it is this one that will save you the most money, time and frustration.
During the course we will cover the following skills and techniques using Discussion, Demonstration and Practice:
Tools for Template Making
Cutting Triangle
Cutting Straights and Curves

We will go into a lot of detail during this course, templates are a critical part of our build and often looked at as a task to be just got out of the way, if they are bothered with at all.
Many people shy away from making their own templates and resort to buying ones made by others.
The issue here is they do not always fit your purpose or are the incorrect size.
During this course you will be given the skills to create a template for any design, size or purpose. Only then can you say it is truly your own creation.
Who is this course for?
This course is well suited to all leatherworkers, irrelevant of skill level.
Template making is a core skill and whatever the build, the techniques required for a good template are the same.
If you are a beginner, we will teach you, if you are already on the path, we will polish you, and if you are an adept, we will remind you.
