Trammel bar for marking and cutting curves
The curve should suit the design. A form or template can guide your cut, but it may not give you the curve you need.
Nigel designed the Armitage Leather trammel bar to mark and cut curves using the same setting. This reduces the chance of introducing an error when moving from marking to cutting, whether you are shaping a bag flap or working on a larger piece.

For sheets containing templates, print on A4 paper at actual size (100%), with “Fit to page” turned off.
Thread length calculator
The amount of thread you need depends on the length of the seam, the spacing of the stitches and the total thickness of leather being stitched.
Nigel’s free thread length calculator brings these measurements together to calculate the thread needed for saddle stitching. You can work from the seam length or the number of stitch holes.
